Golden Ancient + Turaga of Air

When BIONICLE originally started in 2001 I was instantly in love with the theme, the art in the comics by Carlos D’Anda and the sets had me hooked. I never truly had a LEGO “dark age” as some builders do I picked up sets that were fun to build or in themes I enjoyed throughout the years. But when the second generation of BIONICLE was announced I was super excited. These were some of the first custom builds I did after G2 came out and picking up some other CCBS sets and parts.

The chrome mufflers/exhaust elements I used on the Golden Ancient’s arms were from one of the oldest LEGO sets I own. I was happy to find a fun use for them and surprised that they work seamlessly with the CCBS add-on system around 20 years later.
